Mountain Weather Forecast

Time and Day: 0715 Sunday

The Snapshot: Sunny and warm today and tomorrow with east winds and a slight temperature inversion.

The Science

Current Observations:  It’s a beautiful, clear, late winter morning. No new precipitation in the past 36 hours, light east winds at ridge tops and in the base area this morning. Temperatures are in the mid 20’s in the base area and on the east side of the ski area, and 32 on the upper mountain on the west side (top of Skyline chair). The barometer is steady around 1019.

The Forecast:  A high pressure ridge remains parked over the PNW today and tomorrow, directing most clouds and moisture away from our area. The ridge will shift east on Monday, with a low pressure system approaching the California/Oregon border.

The Long Range: Light precipitation, potentially rain, will spread from south to north on Tuesday. Amounts look unimpressive for Stevens Pass. Snow levels should drop on Tuesday with light to moderate snow possible Tuesday night and Wednesday.
