MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST


Time and Day: 0700 Monday

The Snapshot:  Good Morning Stevens Pass. More sun and a touch warmer today.  High clouds move in tonight with light mixed rain and snow tomorrow and snow for Wednesday.   

The Science

Current Observations:  It is clear this morning with a temperature of 29 degrees throughout the resort.  The winds are easterly and blowing 5-10mph. The barometer is high and holding steady at 1021mb’s.  The satellite radar has clear skies over the entire state and clouds brewing off the west coast. 

The Forecast: The blocking ridge of high pressure that brought us this amazing early spring weather will weaken and drift east tonight.  This will open the door for a low pressure trough with an embedded cold front to move in tomorrow. The warm air mass will be slow move out with light rain starting out the show.  Once the front moves east of the crest sometime tomorrow afternoon/evening, freezing levels will drop below 4000’ and intermittent snow showers will fill in.  

The Long Range:   Cloudy conditions with intermittent light snow showers will finish out the week.  The weekend will be mostly dry with clear periods.
