Mountain Weather Forecast


Time and Day: 0725 Saturday

The Snapshot: Partly cloudy with a light snow shower or two possible today and Sunday, with seasonally normal temperatures.

The Science

Current Observations:  No precip in the past 48 hours, with temperatures falling into the 20’s overnight. Current temps are 28 on the upper mountain and 30 in the base area. Winds have shifted to westerly and remain light. Skies are partly cloudy.

The Forecast:  A closed low pressure cell sits over northern Oregon this morning with bands of moisture rotating around it. Clouds will increase Saturday afternoon with light snow showers possible. Sunday will be similar but with clearing possible later in the day.


The Long Range: As the low pressure trough/cell moves south on Sunday, dry air and a high pressure ridge will approach the forecast area. Monday and Tuesday look dry with rising freezing levels. A developing trough will approach in the middle of next week with active weather looking likely by Thursday.
