MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST


Time and Day: 0700 Monday

The Snapshot:  This week will start out with more of the same early spring dry and partly cloudy weather.  The spring equinox is only a few days away.  Mixed rain and snow will arrive on Thursday to finish out the week.   

The Science

Current Observations:  The sky is clear this morning with the temperature around 25 degrees throughout the resort.  The barometer is holding steady at 1018mb’s.  The winds are light and out of the west.  Satellite images of the PNW show mostly dry and clear conditions throughout.

The Forecast:  Weak high pressure aloft will keep mostly dry weather over the PNW through Wednesday.   The daily cloud show will develop again which could produce some very light precipitation. 

The Long Range:  A low-pressure system descending over the region on Wednesday will produce some mixed rain and snow on Thursday.  Cooler air mixes in on Friday with snow showers likely for the start of the weekend.
