The Science
Current Observations:
A trace of new overnight, with
2” on the 24-hour board from Friday morning. Temperatures are slightly inverted
with light east winds in place, 19 in the base area and 22 on the upper
mountain. Skies are mostly clear with the barometer on a slow rise to 1008
millibars this morning.
The Forecast: A
slow moving low pressure center that is off the Oregon coast will make its
wobbly path east today, spinning bands of moisture into the forecast area. As
it departs, weak westerly/northwesterly flow will settle in behind it. Today
will feature passing clouds with any precipitation being in the form of light
snow. Sunday will be mostly dry with light snow in the afternoon possible.
The Long Range: Monday and Tuesday will bring more of the same, seasonal temperatures
with partly cloudy skies and a flurry of snow here and there. The next
interesting weather feature looks to impact our area on Thursday, we will keep
an eye on those details.
24hr values daily 4am to 4am.
