Stevens Pass Mountain Weather Forecast
Day and Time: Monday 0800

24 hr Snow: 6"
Pass temperature: 29
Pass level winds:  5-10 W

The Forecast:   Steady temperatures and light snow showers today. Mostly cloudy with light westerly winds. Heavy snow begins Tuesday morning and continues thru Tuesday night.

Long Range: After Tuesday's heavy snow event, Wednesday will bring a relative lull with a dirty ridge (a relative high pressure feature with moisture associated with it). Continued NW upper level flow brings another system Thursday, and another for the weekend. Active weather in store for the foreseeable future.

The Science: Last nights cold front delivered nicely, with light orographic snow showers continuing this morning. A strong triple point frontal system is approaching in NW flow aloft. There will be warming midday Tuesday with this feature, with freezing levels coming right up to Pass level. Temperatures will drop when the associated cold front sweeps through. A variety of lifting mechanisms will be in place to produce heavy precipitation. Currently the heaviest snow is timing out to be Tuesday afternoon and evening.
