Pass temperature:  32 base/ 28 upper mountain
Pass level winds: Light, easterly
Barometer:  Falling slowly to 1004mbs

The Forecast: Dry, mostly cloudy, with a cooling trend Saturday. Light snow beginning overnight. Increasing winds, light to moderate snow Sunday at cooler temperatures/lowering freezing levels.

Long Range: Monday is trending dry with the next system due to arrive Tuesday/Wednesday. Low pressure offshore will bring snow and rain in southerly flow aloft, so rising freezing levels (4500’ +/-) are likely. The end of the week looks dry at the moment.

The Science: A triple point front associated with a low pressure system near the California/Oregon border is making landfall well south of our region. An upper level trough will move over the area this evening, with increasing westerly winds. Cold air arrives in the trough for lowering freezing levels, and orographic snowfall.
