Mountain Weather Forecast

Stevens Pass Mountain Weather Forecast
Day and Time: Sunday 0700

Current Observations:
24hr Precipitation:   .01 / 1” snow
Pass temperature:  6 degrees
Pass level winds:  Calm
Barometer:   1003
Sky: Clear
Radar: Clear

The Forecast: Dry and cold with increasing clouds Sunday. Light to moderate snow Sunday night, with a brief break before a stronger system Monday night and Tuesday.

Confidence is high in another lowland snow event Monday and Tuesday.

The Science: A low pressure system will move southeast across the forecast area today, rotating through the established trough that is responsible for the sagging continental air mass. Precip amounts again look light, but with freezing levels at sea level, it will be interesting how many inches of low density snow get squeezed out. There will be a lull Monday morning before a stronger system arrives Monday afternoon and impacts the PNW through Tuesday. Details continue to emerge on this event but more significant snow across the state at cold temperatures can be expected.

Long Range:  Most of Tuesday looks stormy with Wednesday being a transition day before a likely dry Thursday. Another system impacts the region Friday at continued abnormally low snow levels with lowland snow again a possibility.

Values from 4am today through
 4am tomorrow.
