The Forecast: Today will be the coldest day of the week with warmer temperatures moving in tomorrow and snow arriving on Friday.

Long Range: Snow showers can be expected for the weekend.

The Science: This morning should mark the coldest temps of the week. Slightly warmer SE convection will begin to push freezing levels off of sea level with relatively warmer temperatures entering the region. The high pressure will bump up a notch today and then begin to degrade as the week comes to a close.

A unique low pressure system develops over the inland NW (opposed to out over the Pac waters) on Friday.  This will grab some moisture from the west and pull in cold air from the interior northeast.  This system appears to park itself over the NW interior which will provide intermittent cold snow showers for the mountains.

Confidence is good for the remainder of the week and dropping to fair for the weekend outlook.

 4am tomorrow.
