The Forecast: Sunny and warm today, increasing clouds,
mild on Monday with snow arriving Monday afternoon.
The Science:
Today will bring one more sunny and calm day. A fast moving low pressure system
arrives Monday afternoon. Freezing levels will rise to above Pass level (4500+)
ahead of the precipitation, but should lower just in time to keep our precip
type as snow for the main event. Post frontal onshore flow will help maintain
orographic snow showers on Tuesday. The whole shebang should come out to around
8-12” of much appreciated snow for Stevens Pass.
Long
Range: High pressure
rebuilds for the middle of the week, bringing a return to mild weather.
Freezing levels will be typical for late winter, around 2500’.
Values from 4am today through
4am tomorrow.
