Mountain Weather Forecast

Stevens Pass Mountain Weather Forecast
Day and Time: 0930 Saturday

Current Observations:
24hr Precipitation:   0”
Pass temperature:  29 degrees
Pass level winds:  Light from the east
Barometer:  Steady at 1023
Sky: Mostly clear
Radar: Scattered clouds west of the crest, possibly a light shower or two over the Olympic Peninsula

The Forecast: Mostly clear today and mild with warm temperatures, further warming and sunny on Sunday.

The Science: A high pressure ridge will be in place for the next 48 hours, with a low pressure system riding over the top well north of our forecast area. We will see only scattered clouds associated with that system. The ridge builds in amplitude further on Sunday for a mostly sunny day and rising freezing levels. These will be the warmest temperatures we’ve seen in months. Spring is knocking on the door.

Long Range: Next week will start out sunny and warm, a  weak low pressure system moves across the area in the middle of the week bringing increasing clouds and a passing chance of showers. A stronger system may affect the area at the end of next week, we’ll be watching the details on that.
