Mountain Weather Forecast

Stevens Pass Mountain Weather Forecast
Day and Time: Sunday 0700

24hr Precipitation:  0”
Pass temperature: 32 base / 36 mid mtn

The Forecast: Sunny and very warm Sunday and Monday. Light east winds.

The Science: A high amplitude (big) high pressure ridge is in place over the West Coast, extending well into British Columbia. The strong March sun and warm airmass are combining to bring the warmest temperatures of the “winter”. The pressure gradient is such that offshore flow will strengthen this afternoon, producing east winds thru the passes. This time of year the inversions are relatively minor however, as all the air on the east side of the crest is also quite warm. Enjoy the early arrival of spring.

Long Range:  Sunny and warm conditions will prevail well into the upcoming week. Starting around Thursday a large low pressure system approaches from the Pacific, increasing clouds and some precipitation look likely by next weekend. As of now, freezing levels look a little warmer than we would like. Stay tuned.
