Mountain Weather Forecast

Stevens Pass Mountain Weather Forecast

Barometer:  steady 1016 mb’s

The Forecast: Partly cloudy and cold today and tomorrow. Little to no precipitation expected.

The Science: The northern and southern branches of the jet stream remain split around Washington for the time being. Pacific storms are being directed into California by the southern branch, with the northern branch being responsible for the dry and cold air that we continue to receive. A stationary, weak low pressure center will develop over Washington today, bringing little more than scattered clouds and possibly a snowflake or two. East flow will strengthen today and remain in place for the next few days, driving cold air thru the Passes.

Long Range: The weekend and start of next week will be partly to mostly sunny, cold, and dry. A slight shift in the upper level flow may bring a low pressure system across the region Thursday/Friday for light to moderate snow.
