Stevens Pass
Mountain Weather Forecast
Day and Time: Monday 0700
Current Observations:
24hr Precipitation: 0
Temperature profile: 7 base, 5 ridge
Pass level winds: calm NE
Barometer: dropped a notch to 1018mb’s
Sky: mostly clear
Radar: dry inland with some moisture popping up off the NW coast.
The Forecast: Brrr…. Cold and dry with gusty winds
today and tomorrow.
Long Range: Warmer with
a chance of snow is taking shape for Wednesday/Thursday. We can look forward to light passing snow
showers and temperature rising to seasonal norms for the upcoming weekend.
The Science:
A low pressure cell, centered over northwestern Oregon, is drawing cold, dry
air into the Cascades today. A
temperature inversion may form today with a low level cloud deck forming in the
eastern basin.
This should be the coldest
day of the week with warmer air and some moisture expected to arrive on Wednesday/Thursday. The mid-week system is not packing a ton of moisture
but hopefully we will squeeze a few inches of snow out of it.
Forecast confidence: Good.
Values from 4am today through
4am tomorrow.
