The Science:
The falling barometer is the clue that things are beginning to change. The low pressure system that has been parked
over Northern California will begin to move north. Light precipitation and warmer air will
spread into the region today with cooler westerly flow developing tonight.
A cold front will swing
through tonight shifting the flow to NW and drop freezing levels a bit. There isn’t a ton of moisture associated with
this system but good orographics may give us a bit of snow to play with
tomorrow.
A high pressure ridge
nudges in over the weekend cutting off the moisture and stabilizing the
atmosphere.
Forecast confidence: Fair – weak convergence zone
targets and timing are in question.
