The Science:
Active weather will continue across the PNW for the next few days. Last night’s
system brought a few hours of heavy rain that switched to snow late-afternoon
as the cold front swept through. A pair of fast moving, organized systems will
move across the region during the day Saturday and Sunday. The first should
begin to impact Western Washington this morning, with the moisture already
visible on radar west of the Cascades. This should bring moderate snow to
Stevens Pass, and gusty winds. There will be a relative lull overnight, with
snow tapering off after dark. The next system moves onshore in Northern Oregon
Sunday morning. Light to moderate snow can be expected during the day Sunday,
at slightly warmer temperatures, so mixed precip is more likely.
Long
Range: Zonal westerly
flow will bring cloudy conditions and a chance of snow on Monday, Tuesday
currently looks mostly dry with brief ridging. This will be short lived with
more active weather for the rest of the week at relatively cool temperatures.
Values from 4am today through
4am tomorrow.
