What a wild couple of days! The atmospheric river that
remained nearly stationary over the PNW has finally shifted to the east. Totals
from the past 4 days:
Snow- 36” at Brooks
Precipitation- 6.02” at Schmidt Haus
The Forecast: Mostly cloudy, cooler, and light snow
this afternoon. Drying and colder still on Monday.
Long
Range: Further cooling, partly cloudy, and no precipitation expected Tuesday
and Wednesday.
The Science:
A weak trough will cross Washington in westerly flow aloft today. A colder
airmass will be brought with it for lowering freezing levels. There isn’t much
moisture associated with this feature, it will mostly just spin up remnants
from the recent atmospheric river from our south, bringing some light snow
showers this afternoon.
Confidence: Good
Values from 4am today through 4am tomorrow.
