The Forecast: Increasing clouds today
with light snow flurries expected tonight.
Christmas day will be partly cloudy and dry.
Long Range. Warming with a chance of snow arrives on
Friday and then another possibility for moisture is expected on Sunday.
The Science: A weak warm front will slowly drift across the
southern tier of the Cascades today. There
will have little effect for Stevens Pass other than a few light passing showers
tonight. Pressure gradients will remain
weak with mid to upper barometer readings (high pressure).
Some weak systems will try and make their way through
over the next 3-5 days. These system are not packing much of a punch so no
significant snow events are expected. There
is a warmer air mass associated with this slight pattern change, so we can
expect a warmer temperatures heading into the New Year.
Confidence: Good short term, fair long term.
