MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Stevens Pass Mountain Weather Forecast
Date: Monday, February 17, 2020

Current Observations:
24hr Precipitation: 10” snow / .7” SWE
Temperature profile: 21 upper mtn / 25 base
Pass level winds: light west
Barometer: 1019 rising slowly

The Forecast: Cool and mostly cloudy this morning, with sun breaks this afternoon. Increasingly clear skies and dry tomorrow.

The Science: Last night’s convergence showers have begun to fizzle out this morning as upper level flow gets cut off by a building high pressure ridge. Flow will turn more northerly today, bringing generally cloudy skies with some sun breaks possible. The ridge moves inland tonight and tomorrow for sunny days ahead.

Long Range: The next few days will be dry and sunny, with east flow developing and possible inversion conditions at the pass. The ridge breaks down by the end of the week, with the next chance for snow coming Friday.

Confidence: Good
