MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: Monday 11/10/2014

The Snapshot: The week will start out sunny and cold.  There is a high wind warning tomorrow as cold easterlies crank through the Pass. 

The Science:  High pressure is currently strengthening over the PNW.  This will provide clear conditions for most, if not all of the upcoming week.  The arctic air mass descending into the center of the country will spill over to eastern Washington as well.  The east/west pressure gradients  tighten tonight for the development of a strong easterly flow event tomorrow.    

4-7day Long Range:  A frontal system will track along the southern edge of the state on Thursday with the weekend trending dry and warmer.   No significant moisture is expected at Stevens Pass for the next 7-10 days.  That could easily change.

Water = 0   Snow =0

Trend and Timing:
Dry conditions will prevail until at least Thursday.

Early morning temperatures will hit the mid teens with daytime temperatures rising to near 30.

Base: 5-15 E
Ridge Top: 10-20 E  gust +-50 possible.  

Trend and Timing:
Strong east flow will develop overnight.  5000’ wind models show 40- 50 knot winds for most of the day tomorrow.
