4/4/2008 Weather Discussion: Looks like winter might win the battle this week. Light snow will slowly taper off today for a short intermission through tomorrow. Snow will redevelop for tomorrow night and Sunday. Long-term models show cool unsettled weather continuing at least through the middle of next week. Forecast from Friday 4pm to Saturday 4am Precipitation .10 in. Water 0-2 in. Snow Temperatures Low 26 High 30 Winds 5-10 W gusty Forecast for Saturday 4am to 4pm Precipitation .10 in. Water 0-2 in. Snow Temperatures Low 24 High 34 Winds 0-10 W TRENDS AND TIMING Precipitation: Snow will taper to showers by 4pm today. Weak mountain snow showers will continue though the night. The next more potent front is expected after 4pm tomorrow. Freezing levels: Freezing levels will slowly drop though the night. Freezing levels will bounce up to near 4000’ tomorrow but should fall again with the next cold front. Snow levels will remain below pass level well into next week. Winds: Westerly flow will be the norm as these systems pass through. Frontal winds will bring a short gusty period late tonight (gust to 25+ possible) but not seeing much in the way of sustained winds for tomorrow. jdm
