4/3/08 WEATHER

4/3/2008 Weather Discussion: We will have one more nice day before the high pressure begins to weaken and drift east. This will allow another NW flow to develop and bring snow into the forecast tomorrow. Long-term models show another stronger system for Saturday/Sunday. The up coming week looks cool and wet as the northern jet takes another run at the PNW. The Climate Prediction Center predicts that the PNW will have below average temps and above average precipitation for the next 8-14 days. I guess winter will be stick around for another week or so. Forecast from Thursday 4pm to Friday 4am Precipitation 0 in. Water 0 in. Snow Temperatures Low 30 High 45 Winds 0-5 SW Forecast for Friday 4am to 4pm Precipitation lt .25 in. Water 1-3 in. Snow Temperatures Low 24 High 30 Winds 0-5 W TRENDS AND TIMING Precipitation: The next 12 hours will remain dry. High clouds will show up indicating the developing snow for tomorrow. Freezing levels: Freezing levels will slowly drop to reach 2000’ by tomorrow morning. Freezing levels should remain below pass level through the weekend. Winds: Not much in the way of wind with tomorrow’s system. Could see a short breezy period tomorrow night as the leading edge of the cold front passes but shouldn’t be much. jdm
