SPOT WEATHER FORECAST
3/3/2009 Weather
Discussion: Scattered snow showers will slowly taper off today. A brief dry period will set in tonight before another front drops in from the north Thursday morning.
Long-term models show a winter storm with cooler temperatures, some wind and a nice dose of snow on Thursday. Friday is looking dry with another storm tracking in for the weekend. Seems like winter will stick around for another week or so.

TRENDS AND TIMING
Precipitation: Light scattered snow showers will slowly taper off today. Tomorrow should be dry with the exception of a passing shower or two. The next front dropping in from the north is timing out to arrive sometime early Thursday morning.
Freezing levels: Freezing levels will hover near Pass level through tomorrow. Temperatures will begin to trend down as cooler air invades from the north late tomorrow. Keep an eye on that special 26degree mark Jon A. always watches.
Winds: Light east flow will swing north then west through the next 24 hours. I am keeping an eye on the development of some strong upper level NW winds for Thursday.
