SPOT WEATHER FORECAST
3/5/2009 Weather
Discussion: Snow will taper off today and we may even get a peek at the sun. Tomorrow will be dry and cold. The skiing just keeps getting better and better. The avalanche danger is also growing, so make sure you are in the know.
Long-term models show strong NW flow pushing another system down the BC coast on the weekend - this should be a nice snow producer as well.

TRENDS AND TIMING
Precipitation: Snow will quickly taper off today with some sun breaks possible. The following 24-36 hours will be dry. The atmosphere will remain somewhat unstable so I wouldn’t rule out a random snow shower or two.
Freezing levels: Freezing levels will trend down to 1000’ or lower tonight. Single digit lows will be possible. A spike in freezing levels is expected to occur tomorrow night in preparation for the next cold front on Saturday.
Winds: Wind should also let up today and shift northerly. Light flow from the north will continue through tomorrow. West flow will then kick in and strengthen Saturday morning.
