SPOT WEATHER FORECAST

3/17/2009 Weather Discussion: Nice snow eh? High-pressure building to our south will lift the main activity to our north tonight. Looks like a dry day with warmer temperatures tomorrow. Long-term models pick up the action again late tomorrow night. A mixed rain and snow event will be possible on Thursday with a cold front moving in Friday. Longer-range models show active weather continuing well into next week. Forecast from Tuesday 4pm Wednesday 4am Precipitation Lt .10 in. Water 0-2 in. Snow Temperatures Low 22 High 32 Winds 0-10 wsw Forecast for Wednesday 4am to 4pm Precipitation .10 in. Water 0-2 in. Snow Temperatures Low 24 High 36 Winds 0-10 wsw TRENDS AND TIMING Precipitation: Snow will change to shower today and then taper off overnight. The next wave of moisture will arrive early Thursday morning. This is looking like a rain snow mix below 4500’ . Freezing levels: Surface temps will creep up to near freezing today and then fall overnight. Freezing levels will trend up reaching 4500’ by mid afternoon tomorrow. Freezing levels will hover there until the cold front brings cooler air on Friday. Winds: Not much showing up in the wind department. Light WSW flow will be the norm for the rest of the week.
