Discussion: A vigorous frontal system will bring heavy rain, snow and wind to the mountains for the next 12-24 hrs. A cold front will follow tonight, dropping freezing levels and tapering the precipitation.
Long-term models show unsettled weather continuing until a high-pressure ridge moves on shore by the middle of the week.

TRENDS AND TIMING
Precipitation: The snow will change to rain today and then switch back to snow overnight. Snow will taper to showers tomorrow and continue through Tuesday. Storm total water equivalents are still around 2” from 4am this morning to noon tomorrow.
Freezing levels: Freezing levels will push up to 5000’ today and then fall below 2000’ overnight. Temps should stay on the cool side until Wednesday.
Winds: Gusty SW frontal winds will blow today. Wind will shift westerly and strengthen overnight. Breezy conditions will continue for most of tomorrow.
