STEVENS PASS MOUNTAIN WEATHER

12/29/2010 Weather

24HR SNAPSHOT starting at NOON today

Water - .10  Snow - trace
Freezing levels - 500'
Winds - 5-15 NW shifting NNE

General Discussion: Clearing and drying will start today as the atmosphere stabilizes under building pressure. Cold air from the north will also settle into the eastern basin for some pretty chilly low temperatures.

Long-term: High pressure will provide dry and cool conditions for the PNW through the weekend.

TRENDS AND TIMING
Precipitation: These convergence snow showers will taper off today with dry conditions developing this afternoon.

Freezing levels: Snow at SeaTac this morning must mean freezing levels are close to sea level. Clearing skies with cool air from the north will produce surface temperature in the single digits, or lower, for the next few days.

Winds: Gusty NW winds will begin to taper off tonight. Winds will shift N over night and eventually settle on easterly flow late tomorrow evening.
