General Discussion: A good looking NW storm track will bring snow and cold temperatures to the mountains tonight. It is shaping up to what could be another great week of powder.
Long-term: A drying trend will begin on Thursday with cold arctic air descending on the PNW. We could receive some record low temperatures by the weekend.
TRENDS AND TIMING
Precipitation: Snow will develop today and fall through the following 36hrs. The bulk of the snow will come after 2am and then ramp up tomorrow with the aid of a developing convergence zone. 72hr storm totals are currently exceeding 2” of water or +20” of snow. I think that might be a bit high, but we will go with for now.
Freezing levels: Freezing levels will remain well below pass level through the week.
Winds: Winds will be steady out the west through Wednesday. Expect gusty ridge top winds to exceed 25mph tonight and early tomorrow morning. No significant winds (40+) are expected.
