General Discussion: Clouds will thicken today as the next system develops. The next two and a half days will be sporty with moderate to heavy snow, a little rain mixed in there for good measure, and high winds to wrestle with.
Long-term: It will all end late Monday as high pressure begins to build. High pressure is expected to produce dry weather for the remainder of the week.
TRENDS AND TIMING
Precipitation: Light snow showers today will change to steady snow tonight. There will be a brief period of mixed rain and snow tomorrow morning before it changes back to snow. Snow totals by noon Monday are currently calculating out to be + 12-15”.
Freezing levels: Freezing levels will briefly spike up to 5000’ early tomorrow morning. Freezing levels will then fall to around 3000’ and stay low through Monday.
Winds: Winds won’t be much of a factor for the next 24 hours. However, NW winds are expected to ramp up tomorrow afternoon with sustained winds above 30mph. Gust above 50mph will be possible.
