STEVENS MOUNTAIN WEATHER

3/16/2011 Weather

24HR FORECAST starting at NOON today

Water - .25  Snow 1-3
Freezing levels - 2500'
Winds - 5-10 W

General Discussion: The approaching low pressure system is expected to stall off coast and then drift south. This will spin periodic bands of moisture through the mountain for the remainder of the week.

Long-term: It seems that our storm cycle is coming to and end. A few more disturbances are expected to move through over the next 2-4 days, but for the most part, we will enter a warmer period with fewer chances of significant winter storms.

TRENDS AND TIMING
Precipitation: Weak high pressure aloft will slowly bring an end to the snow tonight. Tomorrow will be relatively dry with a few snow showers lingering around the Cascade crest.

Freezing levels: Freezing levels will fall to 2500’ tonight. However, sun breaks will push surface temps into the mid 30’s today and tomorrow. Good night time cooling should also occur with the aid of some clear skies.

Winds: Westerly flow will slowly shift easterly through the next 24 hrs.
