3/1/2011 Weather

24HR FORECAST starting at NOON today

Water - .5  Snow 6-8
Freezing levels -  2500'  rising 3500'
Winds 0-10 ESE

General Discussion: Snow with warmer temperatures will continue today.

Long-term: Low pressure systems are expected to continue to develop off the NW coast. Therefore, expect this wintery pattern to continue into next week. However, there will be longer dry periods in between the fronts.

TRENDS AND TIMING
Precipitation: Light snow will continue today. Snow will intensify around 4am tomorrow and then become showery later in the day.

Freezing levels: Freezing levels will briefly rise to near pass level tonight. Temperatures will then fall in the wake of tomorrow’s cold front. East flow will help keep surface temperature below freezing.

Winds: Light east flow will continue to flow at the surface tonight and then shift SW tomorrow afternoon. Southerly flow aloft (>5k’) could be gusty at times.
