General Discussion: A cold front approaching the coast today will bring more snow to the mountains tonight and tomorrow.
Long-term: A high pressure ridge will begin to build in the upper atmosphere tomorrow. This will likely break up the approaching systems and produce light passing snow showers with little accumulation Thursday-Saturday.
TRENDS AND TIMING
Precipitation: Light snow showers will continue today. Snow will intensify tonight with the passing of the cold front and strengthening westerly flow aloft. A drying trend will begin tomorrow afternoon and continue through the remainder of the week.
Freezing levels: Freezing levels will also fall with the cold front. Freezing levels will continue to drop tomorrow night and Thursday.
Winds: Today’s east flow will shift westerly tonight. Ridge top winds will once again be strong through the night.
