3/28/2011 Weather
24HR FORECAST starting at NOON today
Water - .25 -.5 Snow - 2-5
Freezing Levels - 4000'
Winds 5-10 W
General Discussion: An approaching warm front will bring more snow to the mountains tonight and tomorrow.
Long-term: Look for higher freezing levels with rain/snow combo on Wednesday/Thursday. High pressure developing off the southern coast will likely bring dry and seasonally warm weather to the PNW by the weekend.
TRENDS AND TIMING
Precipitation: Wet snow will develop this evening and fall through the night and most of tomorrow.
Freezing levels: Freezing levels will remain just below pass level through noon tomorrow. Freezing levels will then rise above 5000’ in the wake of the warm front. Day time warming will once again push surface temperature into the mid 30’s.
Winds: A brief period of east flow will develop tonight. Westerly flow will kick in again tomorrow as the front moves through. Periods of gusty frontal winds will be possible.
