STEVENS PASS MOUNTAIN WEATHER

4/14/2011 Weather

24HR FORECAST starting at NOON today

Water - .25  Snow 2-4
Freezing levels - 2500' rising 3500'
Winds 5-10 WSW

General Discussion: A weak front will bring a brief period of moderate snow tonight with just light snow showers expected tomorrow.

Long-term: Weak NW flow will keep the atmosphere unstable through the weekend. Therefore, light snow showers with sun breaks will bring us through the final weekend of operations. The long range outlook is trending toward dryer but still cooler than normal conditions.

TRENDS AND TIMING
Precipitation: A quick moving front will bring a period of snow this evening. Snow is expected to quickly taper off after midnight with a few residual snow showers left over tomorrow.

Freezing levels: Freezing levels will bounce between 2500’ and 3500’ a few times during the next few days. Cool temperatures are expected for the weekend.

Winds: Light SW flow will slowly shift easterly tomorrow. There could be a short period of some gusty ridge top winds during early morning hours, other than that, there shouldn’t be much in the wind department.
