General Discussion: Yuk! A strong frontal system will bring heavy precipitation to the mountains tonight and tomorrow. Unfortunately it will be mostly rain. The wind will be an issue for the next few days as well.

Long-term: A cold front drops in on Thursday which will hopefully bring snow for the weekend. Storms will continue to track towards the PNW well into the new year.

Heavy rain is expected below 4500’ with mixed rain and snow around 5000’ and higher. With some luck the upper mountain will get more snow than rain. The upper elevations (+5K) could receive several feet of snow by week’s end.

Strong westerly winds are expected to accompany this storm. Watch for sustained winds of +20pmh, with +50mph possible tomorrow.
