MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 0930 Tuesday

The Snapshot: This drizzly snow will begin to taper off today with drying tonight and tomorrow.  The air mass will continue to wearm with freezing levels rising to 4000' by tomorrow afternoon.

The Science: These clouds will begin to lift and thin today as a weak high pressure ridge moves over the mountains.  The clouds will begin to thicken tomorrow as the next frontal system approaches the region.  Snow is expected to reach the mountains Thursday afternoon and continue through Friday.

4-7day Long Range: The models are still struggling with the exact timing of the approaching frontal system.  As of now, the leading edge of the front is expected to enter the mountains Thursday afternoon with snow likely.  Snow rain mix continues on Friday with the weekend starting out dry.
