MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 1000 Monday


The Snapshot: Today will be mostly dry and warm with a few light rain showers passing through from time to time.  Light rain tomorrow turning to light snow tomorrow evening.  Cooling and mostly dry on Wednesday/Thursday.


The Science:  This morning’s radar has some light scattered rain showers falling along the western slopes of the Cascades.  Warm air advection will occur today driven by WSW flow and rising pressure.   A weak cold front drops through tomorrow evening with light rain turning to light snow.  No significant accumulation is expected.


4-7day Long Range: Thursday is looking cold and dry under northerly flow with another rain snow game entering the scene on Friday/Saturday.

Today and tonight will be mostly dry.  A weak front will bring light rain changing to light snow tomorrow afternoon and evening.

Trend and Timing:
 
Surface temperatures will once again pike up to +40f today.  Temperatures will remain mild through most of tomorrow.   Freezing levels will begin to fall tomorrow night with temperatures dropping below freezing early Wednesday morning.

Trend and Timing:
 
Some gusty westerly winds will occur early tomorrow morning. These are just frontal winds and not all that strong.  NW flow develops on Wednesday.
