SUNDAY WEATHER BRIEF

The high pressure ridge off of the coast flattened overnight which will change yesterdays forecast. First, this will allow weak showers to track through the North Cascades today.  Freezing levels will fall from 5k’ to 4k’ this afternoon which will turn the rain to snow.  No significant accumulation is expected. These strong westerly winds will also continue to blow in the mountains for the next few days.

Secondly, this will open the door for several weak systems to make their way through the PNW throughout the upcoming week.  Freezing levels will start out high as they bounce between 4000’ and 5000’ through Tuesday morning.  A cold air mass sinks in from the north Tuesday night.  Snow is expected by the end of the week and lasting through the weekend.
