MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day:  0830 Thursday

 
The Snapshot:  Today will be mostly dry with light scattered rain/snow showers likely; snow changing to rain tomorrow.

 
The Science:  A strong warm front is expected to reach the mountains early tomorrow morning. This will bring rising freezing levels and moderate to heavy snow changing to rain through the day tomorrow.    

 
4-7day Long Range:   Mixed snow and rain will continues through the weekend.   Next week will start out dry with some clearing.   More wet and warm systems are positioned to hit the PNW on Wednesday/Thursday.

24hr water by noon tomorrow = .5  Snow = 1-3
 
Trend and Timing:
Light snow showers with sun breaks today.  Snow will begin early tomorrow morning and change to rain by noon or so.

Low: 26  High: 34
Freezing level: 4000’   5500’
 
Trends and Timing
Freezing levels will hover around 4000’ through the night and then rise to 5500’ with the passing of the front tomorrow.

 Light westerly flow today shifting back to easterly tomorrow.
