MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day:  1030 Wednesday

 
The Snapshot: Another similar day as yesterday with broken clouds and a chance of some short lived showers.  Tomorrow will be mostly cloudy with mix rain and snow arriving late in the day. 

 
The Science:  High cirrus clouds will move in today in response to the approaching system.   Another triple point frontal system with freezing levels around 4500’ will bring a mixed bag of rain and snow to the mountains tomorrow night.  General unstable westerly flow will keep the threat of rain/snow in the forecast through the weekend.

 
4-7day Long Range:  High pressure returns on Sunday for another dry and warm start to the week.

Trend and Timing:
Light rain and snow showers will continue to be possible today and tomorrow.   The main front approaching the region is expected to reach the mountains after closing tomorrow.

Freezing level: +- 4500
 
Trends and Timing
Freezing levels will continue to fluctuate between 4000’ and 5000’ through the weekend.

Winds will be generally out of the west through this series of weak systems.
