Updated Weather Forecast 1100

Thursday

We shouldn’t see much more snow or rain for the next 12-24hrs.

Tomorrow’s Storm:  The leading edge is expected to reach the mountains around noon tomorrow.  24hr water equivalents from noon tomorrow through noon on Saturday = +-1” or  +- 12” of snow.

Another storm with similar results will hit the mountains early Sunday morning.  I will wait until tomorrow to dial in those numbers- but we are still on track to have close to 2’ of new snow on the ground by late Sunday afternoon.

The potential with the snow gods on our side (convergence, east flow, freezing level love):   30” by Monday morning.

The Long Range:  As of now, models are showing the snow continuing into the early Monday morning.   The high-pressure building over the interior southwest will begin to push most of the moisture north into southern Canada by late Monday/Tuesday.  +-8000’ freezing levels are forecasted for the middle of next week with little to no precipitation.

Another cold front with cooler temps is peaking into the long-long range models for the end of next week.  Don’t put much stock in that.
