MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

0800 Sunday:

The Snapshot:  Clear and cool today.  Clouds move in tomorrow with light snow developing.  There is a good chance for snow on Friday.

The Science:  High pressure will provide abundant sunshine today.  The high pressure cell is expected to drift east over the next 24hrs allowing a weak system to brush up against the west slopes of the Cascades.  A pattern of light snow showers with intermittent sun breaks will be possible for most of the week.  Very little, if any, accumulation is expected with these light showers.

4-7day Long Range:  Hope on the horizon.  Long- range models have the northern jet stream taking shape for some potential snow.  As of now, snow will be possible on Friday with freezing levels below 4000’.  The long range models are changing for the better with every run, hopefully that trend continues.
