MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

0900 Saturday:

The Snapshot:  Cooler and dry through the weekend.  At least there will be some sunshine to enjoy.  Nice alpenglow this morning.  The week will start out dry with snow possible on Thursday.

The Science:  Cold stable air will settle over the mountains today as high pressure builds.   Morning fog will persist along the crest with sunshine east of the mountains.  High-pressure with offshore flow will block and split the incoming systems keeping the mountains dry through at least Thursday.  

4-7day Long Range: A frontal system is expected late Thursday/Friday with a chance of snow.  The northern jet stream is trending NW, hopefully, this will be the start of some winter storms down the road.

Freezing levels will settle between 3000’ and 3500’ today.
