MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

0600 Monday:

The Snapshot:  Today will be mostly dry with a chance of some light snow showers this morning.  Rain starts tonight and continues for most of the week.

The Science:  This morning’s radar has light scattered showers along the west slopes of the Cascades Mountains.  The first of a pair of frontal systems enters the scene tonight with rain and high freezing levels for the Mountains.

4-7day Long Range:   A low-pressure system tracks up the coast on Thursday for more rain.  High-pressure develops over the weekend with cooler air and snow possible by early next week.

Today’s 24hr Water = .5  Snow = 0

Tomorrow’s 24hr Water= .5-.75  Snow = 0 

Trend and Timing:
The first band of moisture will hit the mountains this evening; there will be a break tomorrow afternoon with the next wave of rain arriving on Wednesday. 


24hr temperature ending at 4am tomorrow: 
Low:  30  High: 48
Freezing level: 4000’   6000’

Freezing Level Trends and Timing
Freezing level will hit 6000’ or higher tonight and remain well above Pass level into Wednesday.  Surface temperatures could come close to 50f tomorrow afternoon.
