0730 Thursday:
The Snapshot: Light snow showers with sun breaks today, snow tomorrow with the weekend trending
dry.
The Science: This morning’s radar has the lingering convergence
zone aimed at Snoqualmie Pass with just a few left over snow showers. Rumor has it Alpental receive 18” of
snow.
A weak upper-level ridge will keep Stevens Pass
relatively dry for the next 24hrs. Snow
will begin tomorrow afternoon as the low-pressure system tracking down the
coast spins a cold front through the region.
Snow totals for this system are currently around 2-4”. High pressure developing to the east on
Saturday will break apart the moisture steam with just spotty showers and sun break
for the weekend.
Long Range: Bands of moisture will continue to swing
through the state into early next week with only a few inches of snow
likely. High pressure builds over the
region on Wednesday for a sunny and warm end to the week.
