MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 14:00 Friday

The Snapshot:  Rain tomorrow, snow on Sunday, dry Monday and Tuesday, snow ending the week.

The Science:  A warm front approaching the PNW will spread rain inland tomorrow.   A cold front will follow tomorrow night breaking up the moisture flow and dropping freezing levels to +- 4000’ on Sunday.  There will be a chance of a few inches of snow Sunday afternoon/evening.   An upper-level ridge will produce mainly dry weather on Monday and Tuesday.

Long Range:  Wednesday will be the first of two winter storms with the potential of producing some measurable snow for Stevens Pass.  The second front is expected on Friday.  

Wednesday storm:  It is still bit far out for details to be reliable, but as of now, there is a chance to have 8-14” of snow on the ground Thursday morning.  Friday’s front will be a bit warmer with some snow vs. rain challenges.

Trend and Timing:
Light rain showers expected to hit the mountain after sun up tomorrow morning with light rain continuing through most of the day.

Temperatures are on the rise today.   Freezing levels will remain above 5000’ until Sunday.

Winds will be relatively light out of the SW through Saturday.
