Storm Update

Mid-day Update:  11:30 Wednesday

Synopsis:  The next front is expected to reach the mountain around midnight tonight with +-4” of snow possible by noon tomorrow.  Once the warm font pushes east of the mountain, freezing levels will rise (5000’)  and the cool east flow mechanism will be over.   Therefore, expect a short rainy period between noon and 4 pm tomorrow with intermittently mixed rain and snow showers lingering into Friday.

A weak cold front will swing through late tomorrow night lowering temperatures and producing intermittent snow showers on Friday and Saturday.   Just and inch or two of additional snow accumulation is expected.

Storm totals:  
Today 4pm to tomorrow 4pm =  .5 water 2-5” of snow
Freezing levels reaching 4000’ mid-morning and briefly peaking @ 5000’ late afternoon. 

Thursday 4pm – Friday 4pm  =   .25  water   2-4” of snow
Freezing levels +-4000’ with increasing westerly winds.   


Long Range:  No changes to this mornings long range forecast:  Several more storms with similar temperature challenges Saturday through most of next week.
