MOUNTAIN WEATHER BRIEF

Time and Day: 0900 Wednesday

The Snapshot:   Clear and warm again today with a chance of a light rain shower or two tomorrow.   Rain or even snow can be expected over the weekend.

The Science:  With another new record high temperature for April being set at Sea-tac this week, (890 ) it’s hard to imagine that it could snow.

A strong low-pressure system developing in the Gulf of Alaska will push a vigorous cold front through the region on Friday.  Freezing levels are expected to drop below 4000’ late Friday night with this system; therefore, expect rain and snow throughout the weekend.

The Long Range:  Next week will start out dry and cool with another batch of mixed snow and rain expected on Tuesday/Wednesday.
