MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day:  12:00pm Monday

The Snapshot:  Cloudy with a few sun breaks today.  Rain tonight and tomorrow, drier with light rain showers on Wednesday and Thursday.    Temps: H- 50 L 42

The Science:  A low-pressure system sliding down the coast will push a nice stratus deck of clouds into the mountains today.  Most of the moisture is currently offshore but is expected to track east tonight with rain expected in the mountains around midnight or so.     A weak high pressure ridge will begin to break things up on Wednesday.

Freezing levels will be above Pass level (+- 6500’) for the next few days with warmer SW flow entering the region Thursday/ Friday.

The Long Range:   Models begin to disagree on the strength and duration of the developing pressure ridge.   So the weekend weather is up for grabs at this point.  There is a developing chain of storms that will eventually have some impact this weekend or early next week.   The general temperature/freezing level regime is on the warm side, so no snow potential in the long-range.
