Time and Day: 2:00 pm Tuesday
The Snapshot: The
rain will begin to taper off this afternoon with tonight being relatively
dry. A few bands of rain will swing
through the mountains tomorrow and Thursday with Friday and the weekend
trending dry. If you are in need of
some sunshine – head east this weekend.
The Science: A
warm front will push through the PNW tonight providing a bit more rain tomorrow
and Thursday. The flow will begin shift
southerly overnight pushing temperatures up into the lower 50’s.
On the other side
of the fence, (The Cascade Crest) high pressure is building; this will begin to block and shift the incoming
moisture to the north, setting up a dry and partly sunny weekend. A
warmer air mass will also develop over
the PNW pushing daytime temperatures close to 60of on Saturday.
The Long Range:
The blocking ridge of high pressure under warm southerly flow will keep
most of the moisture confined to the coastal region through Sunday and likely
into early next week.
